They are easier to adjusts and harder to break. And if you do break the handle on one, Ridgid will give you a new one. I also recommend getting the aluminum wrench when you need one this big. This wrench is awesome in every way! It is much lighter than normal wrenches, but with the same tough power as other wrenches. It is definitely worth the extra money spent. I found that aluminum, like everyone knows, is the best of materials to have tools made since they're light therefore it won't tire you as much. Pipewrenches this size you have to use on big jobs and Rigid has the quiality and workmanship that others don't have. I learned to love this brand more than ever after I went and bought a cheap kind on a discount store. That tool is just sitting in my garage.
